Melbourne Heart FC and Sydney FC will meet for the Second Annual Zaidee Cup at AAMI Park this Saturday October 29. One of the most exciting aspects of the event will see specially designed ZAIDEE’S RAINBOW BOOTS make their debut. Sydney FC stars Michael Beauchamp, Pascal Bosschaart, Bruno Cazarine, Ivan Necevski, Liam Reddy and Jamie Coyne will all be sporting the special edition Rainbow Boots, as will David Williams, Aziz Behich, Kristian Sarkies, Kamal Ibrahim, Nick Kalmar and Curtis Good from the Heart.
In addition to the rainbow boots, both teams will be wearing Zaidee’s Rainbow Shoelaces in support of the awareness of organ and tissue donation.
Melbourne Heart FC won the Inaugural Zaidee Cup on December 23 last year, with a late goal by substitute Adrian Zahara breaking the deadlock, and Heart CEO Scott Munn said the club was keen to defend the trophy. “The players look forward to donning their rainbow laces in support of Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation… The foundation has done some incredible work in promoting organ donation awareness, and we are proud to play our part in supporting this cause.”
Sydney FC Goalkeeper Liam Reddy was equally as excited about the Zaidee Cup. “To give your organs when you go is a special thing and it helps other people to live, so I think it’s a great cause to get behind and hopefully we can help every bit this weekend.”
The match, which kicks off at 7:45pm, will be broadcast live on Fox Sports.
