add remove

This year we are challenging participants to map out and run in the shape of a heart using their favourite running tracker. Once they've completed the run, share there heart on their socials using #runaheart and fundraise for Murdoch Children's Research Institute and Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation.

Where's the Challenge?

add remove

It's up to you!! You can choose the course you'd like to run as long as it's in the shape of a heart! Please make sure you run in a safe and sensible environment on a course that you're comfortable running.

How do COVID-19 restrictions impact the challenge?

add remove

They don't!! As a virtual running challenge, you can run when you want, where you want, with whom you want. Zaidee's Run For Life promotes a fit and healthy lifestyle in line with the guidance provided by state and federal governments.

How do I run a heart?

add remove

We suggest you start by using an online map website to identify a course in your local area where you can safely run in the shape of heart. If you prefer road running, you could utilise the route mapping capabilities in MapMyRun or simply use Google Maps to identify a route that forms the shape of a heart. Alternatively, find a park where you can use markers to map out a heart shape.

Once you have your route planned, run your route using your running tracker to record your path. At the end of your run, share your mapped heart to your social pages either directly via the app or by taking a screen shot and sharing the image. Make sure you use #runaheart when sharing so that we can see and celebrate your effort together.

Fundraising

Do I have to Fundraise?

add remove

Nope!! Although we'd love for you to raise much-needed funds for Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation and Murdoch Children's Research Institute, we encourage participation and want more people to be more active more often.

What's the best way to fundraise?

add remove

Set a lofty target. Your supporters are more likely to sponsor you if they see you have a goal and they can help you reach it.

Where does the money go?

The funds you raise will go to Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation to continue their work in raising awareness and closing the gap between those in need of organs and tissue and the number of registered donors. Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation will donate a portion of the funds raised to Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

Are donations tax deductible?

add remove

All cash donations of $2 or more are tax deductible for Australian tax payers. and tax receipts are automatically issued via email when your supporters donate through your fundraising profile. Please note, if the cash donations are in exchange for something material like a raffle ticket or an auction item then they're usually not tax deductible. If you're unsure, please consult a registered tax agent for clarification.
